Ice cream is a favorite dessert for everyone in our home. It’s one of those things I thought I would have to give up when I became a Trim Healthy Mama. The Trim Healthy Mama cookbook does have a recipe for Tummy Tucking Ice Cream which is good, but it is just not the same.
This Labor Day weekend we were on a trip with some precious friends. Those who aren’t on the THM plan were having their homemade vanilla ice cream full of sugar and the traditional ingredients. So, I decided we THM’s needed our own ice cream and came up with this delicious recipe! We were so thrilled!
Vanilla Ice Cream Sugar Free – Tasteful Tuesday
THM S – Yields approximately 8-10 servings
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 pint half and half or almond milk
2 tbsp vanilla
1/3 cup + 2 tsp Sweet Blend
1/3 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
Pinch of salt
Mix all ingredients until well blended. For a THM version use almond milk instead of half and half. Pour ingredients into an ice cream maker or churn. We use the Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet, and Ice Cream Maker.
Churn ice cream until firm. It only took about 20 minutes for it to churn.
Store in freezer. I used a 2 quart freezer container. This ice cream recipe is simply scrumptious! Enjoy!
